Dan Baynes is Senior Account Director at PLMR, working across several different clients on public affairs, campaigns and media support. Dan previously led on policy and public affairs at the Driver Youth Trust, a charity committed to improving the outcomes of young people who struggle with reading and writing.
Whilst there, Dan oversaw the creation and implementation of the charity’s first external affairs strategy. This led to the Driver Youth Trust giving evidence to the Education Committee on the topic of school exclusions and gaining meetings with government and shadow education Ministers to recommend ways to support young people with literacy difficulties. Dan has presented at the APPG for Dyslexia on the impact of examination reform and on the provision of specialist teachers in England’s school system.
Prior to this, Dan worked for the Labour MP for Chesterfield, Toby Perkins MP, helping to run his Parliamentary office, advising him in his role as Shadow Minister for Small Business and playing an active role in the 2015 General Election campaign.
Dan graduated from the University of Hull with a BA(Hons) in British Politics and Legislative Studies in 2016.
