The Situation

Visit Essex is the official tourism board for the Essex region. From afternoon tea and glamping to wildlife parks and zoos, Visit Essex promotes the huge array of activities, events, hotels, restaurants, shopping destinations, attractions and more to residents and beyond.​

As the final part of the Locals campaign, the objectives looked slightly different to the previous phase. During phase five, the ads promoted the Essex Big Weekend, pointing the audience to the free ballot for a chance to win a range of different prizes and activities offered by local businesses.

What we did

Similarly to the other four phases, phase five utilised both Google Display and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) ads. The creatives played a big part in this campaign, showcasing a variation of the prizes available to win.

The Result

Despite this phase of the Locals campaign running for just a month, it delivered expectational results. Across both Google Display and Meta, the ads generated over 2 million impressions and over 32,000 clicks through to the Essex Big Weekend website. Additionally, 7,683 people entered the ballot.
