Social Worker of the Year Awards

Providing digital and PR support for awards that recognise Britain’s social workers.

The Situation

The Social Work Awards Ltd is a registered charity which aims to give recognition to the challenging work of qualified social workers, promote best practice, celebrate success and improve public understanding of the profession. The main activity undertaken to achieve these aims is the Social Worker of the Year Awards.

The awards team required assistance to build awareness of the Social Worker of the Year Awards, both within the sector and with the general public, to gain sponsorship, increase nominations and generate income to support the development of the charity.

What we did

We developed and delivered a year-round communications strategy for the Trustees of the Social Worker of the Year Awards. This includes overseeing the planning, management and delivery of the annual awards ceremony for over 450 people and the winners’ parliamentary reception. We were also responsible for designing and creating a brand new website to help promote the awards.

The Result

The 2018 awards were the most successful to-date, with more sponsors, nominations and tickets sold than ever before. There were 147 pieces of media coverage and over 88,000 impressions on Twitter on the awards night.
