How PLMR Genesis helped OFTEC disseminate its key messages

The Situation

OFTEC is the UK’s trade association for the oil heating industry providing the sector’s competent persons registration scheme catering for 1.5 million oil-heated homes. It has 9,600 members including manufacturers, heating engineers, training providers and assessors.

The association has a diverse range of stakeholders to communicate with, from end consumers to technicians and manufacturers. The long-term survival of their industry is currently under threat from evolving Government climate change policy.

What we did

An integrated approach has been taken that encompasses PR, social media, print and digital marketing in order to disseminate OFTEC’s key messages. Added to this is an extensive lobbying programme.

The Result

Significant on-going share of voice across OFTEC’s industry and consumer audiences has been achieved year on year, coupled with increasing levels of reach and engagement through social media. Our lobbying efforts have resulted in a change in government policy and have been recognised through winning several awards.
