The Situation

King’s InterHigh – part of Inspired Education Group – is an online fee-paying school, delivering a British curriculum to key stages 2, 3, 4 and 5. In order to raise its profile and position online schooling as a high-quality substitute for physical institutions, catering for students requiring more flexibility with their education, it enlisted the support of PLMR.

What we did

Understanding the need to build and sustain momentum to develop a profile within the market, PLMR devised a long-term PR and marketing plan to utilise the School’s ambassadors, subject leads and CEO to talk about the benefits of flexible learning and alternative education routes to mainstream learning and pitched these to a variety of media to raise awareness among its target audience.

The Result

Throughout PLMR’s support, the team secured multiple opportunities including editorials, interviews and case studies, achieving a range of coverage including nationals – in The Metro, Evening Standard, The Independent, The Daily Telegraph, The Times – as well as across education trade and consumer press such as, International Schools Magazine, International Teacher Magazine, Every Child Journal, Digital Learning, Education Technology, ParentTalk, ABC Surrey, and The Green Parent.

Throughout lockdown, PLMR also worked closely with the King’s InterHigh team to drive awareness of online schooling as a way to minimise disruption to teaching. Part of this support involved drafting award entries to further build its credibility amongst the sector and prospective parents. Working across the sector and having an in-depth understanding of the key issues at hand, paired with our expertise in education communications strongly positioned us for this work which resulted in King’s InterHigh winning ‘Educational Establishment of the Year’ at the Education Resources Awards in 2020.
