The PLMR team beat competition from CHC Helicopters and RBS Shareholder Action Group to win the top award for reputation management.
PLMR’s Head of Health and Social Care, Nathan Hollow, was also shortlisted in the ‘Young Achiever’ category and the business was a finalist for Best Digital Campaign, for our work to achieve a Government u-turn on standards required to teach in an early years setting.
The ceremony, hosted by comedian Rhys James, took place amongst the Art Deco splendour of The Troxy, East London. Entering its 13th year, the annual CorpComms Awards are the premier awards for the communications industry and recognise the achievements of communications professionals from in-house and consultancy roles.
The award-winning work was for independent care provider, Bowden Derra Park, who bought in PLMR to reassure staff, residents and families, following an aggressive safeguarding investigation by Cornwall Council that sparked front page news in the local community. PLMR worked quickly to defend the home’s reputation in the local media and galvanise the support of families and the local MP, with PLMR taking a proactive approach that shaped the narrative of a ‘David vs Goliath’ battle between the provider and Council.
Elin de Zoete, Managing Director of PLMR said:
“We have a long-standing record of delivering sharp, timely, high-level crisis management support to clients when they need it the most. We are all delighted that our work has been recognised nationally and I would like to particularly congratulate the client team, led by Tim Knight and Nathan Hollow, on this achievement.”
